Termessos Ancient City

One of Antalya's best-preserved ancient cities, Termessos is about 30 km from the centre. It was built at an altitude of 1,150 metres, on the peaks of the Güllük Mountains. With its vast ancient theatre, Termessos is an important ancient city not only in Türkiye but worldwide.

Thought to have been built by the Luwian and Solymi civilisations, the city has active excavation work; the finds are exhibited in the Antalya Museum.
